Roof Deck Preparation

We always remove your existing roof down to the sheathing so we can inspect for any framing issues and check for rot before we start, by doing this we can guarantee our work and stand behind our warranty. We also ensure your home has adequate ventilation in order for the roof deck to breathe properly which is critical to shingle life.

The Things You Don't See

Miami-Dade county approved synthetic felt, metal valley flashing, Ice & Water shield, starter shingles up the rakes and aluminum drip-edge are just a few things we consider standard that most don't. Things like these are just as important as the shingle itself.

No More Pipes sticking out your roof

Most pipes in roofs are there to supply air to your drain pipes. If reasonably feasible we convert these pipes to stay below the roof-line in your attic with an air admittance valve capping it off. We have to leave one pipe out the roof to pass code so for that we use a no-leak lead pipe boot.

The Shingles

For the shingles themselves we prefer Atlas Pinnacle Pristine for in-shore Eastern North Carolina, and the Atlas StormMaster series for areas on the coast line where high wind speeds are more common. We use 5 hand-drive roofing nails per full shingle on the Pinnacle shingles and 6 hand-drive nails per shingle on the StormMaster to satisfy Atlas high-wind zone warranty guidelines.

Finishing Touches

We use Atlas Hip & Ridge with 3M Scotchgard Technology to cap-off your roof which is important to ensure your roof stays algae resistant for years to come. Any exposed flashing such as chimneys are done in high-grade copper roll, all flashed brick are also cleaned and sealed with Siloxane PD by PROSOCO to ensure your brick chimney or wall doesn't leak even in those pesky 3-4 day rain storms ENC gets.
